R.I.P. George Allen

We received this message:

Some of your members may remember my father, George Allen. He lived in Birkenhead and was a lifelong cigarette card collector, as well as match box labels, post cards etc. He went to meetings all over the country but he was a regular at the meetings in Timperly, Cheshire.
Sadly Dad passed away last Wednesday 27th August at the grand age of 95. He died peacefully in his sleep.
I would be grateful if you could post this news in your newsletter.
Kind regards
Peter Allen

I didn't know Mr Allen but my thoughts go to the Allen family .

As we've said before , it's not the amount of times you go around the world it's the amount of  times you go around the sun that is important . .

95 rotations for George is good going .

R.I.P .

Likewise I did not know the gentleman, but I'm sure he gained great pleasure from his hobby in life. My condolences.

Can't just place him but must have met him as I also visited Timperly regularly, always sad to hear of fellow collectors moving on. Good innings though.
Always looking for interesting cards and associated goods issued by Ogden's you can see samples of cards I am looking for in the wants section.
Best Regards David

Was a regular at Timp for a time myself, so maybe our paths crossed at Ted Wareham's table and the like.
Condolences. RIP.
