I suggest you join the CSGB and or subscribe to the magazine called Card Scene, this one list all the card fairs the other all the clubs.

You will be able to satisfy all your wants you have shown, none are rare and all are readily available.

You will also find as there are so many different series that I recommend you to focus on a particular theme or company.

There are many reference books for you to acquire that lists many of the series.

The best way to learn is to ask questions no matter how simple or strange you may think, we were all beginners once.

The more you preserve, the more you will learn, and the emptier your wallet will become.

Good hunting and welcome.

Always looking for interesting cards and associated goods issued by Ogden's you can see samples of cards I am looking for in the wants section.
Best Regards David

There are about 30,000 Ogdens to collect and am still hunting for about 1500 cards, you may have some but unlikely, all are pre1902 or overseas BAT issues. (You may not understand what I mean by that, you will need to understand the history of the tobacco War 1901-2)
What you are doing is exactly what we have all done and had hours of pleasure in, not necessarily ebay, mine car boots and auctions, but things have moved on.

I do however, find the occasional card on ebay.

Condition is something you will need to understand but that comes from experience, rule of thumb the more common the better the condition the card must be.  You will when, you spot rare cards consider condition less important.
There was a topic on condition a few months ago that gives a few examples.

I am bias, but you would get great satisfaction in collecting Ogden's, especially the Guinea Gold's, if you get into them, many are put off because there are so many, but that's half the pleasure to me.
If you look on ebay, Guinea gold's you will see what I mean they are affordable. If your interest is in sport, which is the most popular, you may tend to favour cards with a sports theme.

What ever you choose, best of luck you will not regret it, happy hunting.

Hi Royster, I have the 3 cards you are after. I'll check mine and see if we can do a swap. Mine are only in Good condition I would say, but like you I am a novice at this game.

Hi Mighty Fly , I was under the impression that the forum was open to all and members didn't need ' vetting '

Hi all,

I've been on my travels for the past couple of weeks, so firstly a belated welcome to the new members.

There's no official procedure for swapping cards.  If you need any cards or have any for swap, you can make a post in the appropriate sections of the forum.  Anyone who is interested can contact you directly via PM, or you can contact them,  and you can come to an agreement between yourselves.

As a newbie how does this swapping cards between members work?
