Lonnie Donegan was the Pied Piper of post WW2 Britain, inspiring the youth to build their own musical instruments from the debris of WW2 bomb sites. His simple but infectious 1950's music style - Skiffle - inspired much of Britain's rock royalty: The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Jimmy Page, Brian May.... Here's my YouTube video of him and some cards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM_2QVcWzAw

Lonnie Donegan.  Remember him well.  Someone gave me the record of "does your chewing gum lose its flavour .." many years ago.  In fact I tried to transfer it to my PC a couple of weeks ago but discovered that it is rather worn.  He started off with Chris Barber who is a favourite of SWMBO.  BTW, I think the instruments came from bomb sites rather than bomb sights  :)
I come from somewhere long ago...
