Hi
« on: May 10, 2013, 10:10:54 PM »
Just found this site so thought i'd sign up and say Hi

Part time dealer and was at the Woking AGM (on Saturday you'd have seen me glued to laptop behind my tables as I was more engrossed with the football)

Been interesting reading some of the threads on here and I'll try and participate when I get chance

Not going to push selling but will say I'm interested in any Brentford FC related cards for my own collection. Obviously I have the more common issues.  Even if you're not selling, I'd be interested in any information re very rare Brentford cards

Welcome Steve. I'm also a keen football inspired collector and supporter. My team is GrimsbyTown F. C. and I collect any trade right through to the latest panini items.

Welcome all.  Hoping that we may be playing some if not all of those teams next year if we can get a result at Wembley next week.  Having been to St James' Park, old and new, I'm happy enough for the Geordies to stay up though ;)  Think I may have 'met' Up the Cherries at Woking as just like Brentford, there can't be many Bournemouth fans, especially ones that wear their teams colours at the AGM.

As for cards, Brentford are seldomly seen on modern cards as far as I'm aware although there are some panini cards.  Biggest shock I had was discovering that the Bunsen series includes not just one or two Brentford players but several. Still need to find out how many.  However, it's going to be a costly exercise getting all of those.

I don't want to use this as a sales medium but I do have many football cards, common and rarer. Quite happy to swap if anyone has anything I need.

Hello Steve.

Good luck in the play off final. Yeovil have one of our old boys in their team.
Ed Upson.

Hi Hoarder.

I'm afraid I dislike the tractor boys tag.I know it was started as a sort of self mickey take but I would prefer something else.

Mick.

The Hignett set came out three years before we made it into the Football league (1936)  As we haven't had a real nickname (other than blues or town) we still wouldn't have been in it.  :'(

Well, I'm not overly keen on it, but I fear it is here to stay now.  ;)

How do you see next season with MickMcC in charge?
Having been very pessimistic for the last year  :-\, I am now beginning to see the glass half full.  :D

Hi hoader.

I think with Mick in charge a push for the playoffs could be in sight. After years of mediocrity (at least 10)
I hope he doesn't sign too many players from Wolves,Stearman would be enough. I like the sound of other targets mentioned ie wingers.
Heres hoping  :)

I wouldn't mind if we played in pink if it guaranteed promotion.   ;D

Portsmouth played in pink from 1898-1909, to honour the 1st chairman, a Mr. Pink apparently. And that in a naval port too... ;)

Hi Captain P , I fully understand where your coming from and I'm sure you'll get there soon  ...I just hope we don't turn into the 2013/14 QPR (apologies to any Hoops fans) .
