Shield Shaped card identification
« on: May 21, 2014, 10:49:09 AM »
Hello Folks,
I'm looking for confirmation of the issue year/sets given in the following Motherwell FC related cards.
Thanks for your time, Stuart

Well, good luck with this little hunt.
No-one is quite sure when the majority of the Baines shields were produced, but I have a few from 1910-1912 for sure.
See my link HERE

I also have a 1922 Baines 'Well Played' proof card for HTAFC HERE possibly created to celebrate the 1922 FA Cup win as the card shows the Cup, but this was never actually used, making it exceedingly RARE!! In fact Baines (of Bradford!) ceased trading soon after this date, so perhaps that's why it never made it to the print run.

I also have a couple of City Bakeries shields but am not sure as to a date. I was always told 1940s/50s but can't pin them down any tighter than that. (Link HERE)
